At Surbtalstrasse 13/15 in Döttingen, enshift is implementing a photovoltaic system combined with a vZEV (virtual self-consumption association) for a multi-family residential building. The project forms part of the portfolio’s sustainable development strategy and enables tenants to benefit directly from locally generated solar power while enhancing the long-term energy performance of the property.

By combining photovoltaic production with a vZEV model, the property transitions from a passive energy consumer to an active energy participant. This approach reduces operating costs for tenants, strengthens the building’s ESG positioning, enhances its long-term property value and lowers its overall carbon footprint. The Döttingen project illustrates how residential buildings can efficiently evolve toward decentralised, locally managed renewable energy systems while creating measurable economic and environmental benefits.

vZEV – Virtual self-consumption model

Through the implementation of a vZEV structure, tenants participate directly in locally generated solar electricity.
The vZEV structure ensures that locally produced energy is consumed where it is generated — directly within the residential building.

SOLAR SYSTEM

The rooftop photovoltaic system has an installed capacity of approximately 58.3 kWp. The east-west orientation of the installation ensures a balanced daily production curve, optimising self-consumption within the residential building.

The inverter is directly connected to the building’s internal distribution board, with integrated surge protection and measurement infrastructure to enable full vZEV integration.
