When Helvetica Property Group sought to modernize the Buchs commercial property, enshift delivered more than just a retrofit. Our integrated energy solution combines solar power, heat pumps, and intelligent coordination to create a system that reduces emissions, lowers costs, and increases property value—without the need for upfront investment.

At Helvetica, Buchs Property, enshift helped turn a conventional building into a high-performing, low-emission property—without interrupting operations or requiring upfront capital. With a tailored mix of solar power and efficient heating, the site now runs cleaner, costs less to operate, and is better prepared for the future. The transformation shows what’s possible when smart energy strategy meets real-world execution.

Solar system

As part of a full-scale energy modernization for the Helvetica commercial property, enshift AG conducted a comprehensive analysis to unlock the site’s renewable energy potential. This assessment identified 2,865 m² of rooftop space ideal for solar, resulting in the installation of a 573 kWp photovoltaic (PV) system.

The system not only supports sustainability targets by cutting CO₂ emissions by 8,859 kg annually—a 31.7% reduction—but also delivers strong financial performance with a projected gross yield of 10.7%. This balance of environmental impact and economic return highlights the long-term value of strategic solar integration for portfolio assets.

Heating solution

To complement the solar installation, enshift AG implemented a 350 kW reversible air-to-water heat pump system, covering 10,170 m² for energy-efficient heating. This solution delivers a significant annual CO₂ reduction of 122,476 kg, representing a 66.8% decrease in emissions.

Beyond its environmental benefits, the system achieves a gross yield of 21.8%, offering both sustainability gains and outstanding financial returns. Enabled by enshift’s PLUS energy contracting model, CapEx costs were reduced by 25–40% on average compared to market prices, ensuring long-term energy cost stability, increased asset value, and enhanced operational resilience.

Advantages of our holistic approach

The reversible heat pumps provide sustainable heating in winter and cooling in summer – independent of outside temperatures

Helvetica benefits from state-of-the-art technology and cost savings without needing to invest its own capital

Combining with a powerful PV system enables the use of self-produced solar energy, increasing self-consumption and economic viability

In addition to reducing operating costs and CO₂ emissions, the solution improves the property’s energy rating, increases marketability, and reduces long-term vacancy risk
