enshift is leading the energy optimization of a nano-gas heating network serving around 240 households with a total heat demand of 2 million kWh. The project includes a partial conversion to deep geothermal energy (900m), providing a renewable heat capacity of approximately 400 kW.
The process starts with a detailed simulation of heat demand and distribution, taking into account building structures, insulation, geography, and weather data for 10 multi-family homes with 240 households. These insights help accurately predict heating needs and guide the next phase.
Based on the simulation, engineers create a comprehensive plan, selecting the best heat source, designing the network layout, and calculating system capacity. After approval, construction begins with the installation of pipes, pumps, heat exchangers, and controls, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to safety standards.
Collaboration among engineers, authorities, and residents is vital throughout the project to solve technical challenges, secure permits, and engage the community. Once operational, ongoing monitoring and maintenance ensure the network runs efficiently and sustainably over time.
