The PV system is installed on a green roof using elevated mounting structures to support robust vegetation growth while ensuring optimal energy yields.
With the new construction project in Samstagern, a real estate agency and enshift AG are jointly setting another milestone for sustainable neighborhood development. The focus is on implementing an integrated electricity concept based on photovoltaics – including physical ZEV (grouped self-consumption) and energy contracting.
Despite the complexity of the new building and numerous coordination points with the building planning, a sustainable energy design was realized early on. Particular attention was paid to the integration of PV on a green roof: The modules were installed with elevated mounting to accommodate strong plant growth while ensuring maximum yields.
The system installed on the green roof with 175.36 kWp forms the energy backbone of the project. Thanks to the physical grouped self-consumption (ZEV), the locally produced electricity is distributed directly to the tenants – efficiently, cost-effectively, and independently from the public grid.
How does a ZEV work?
In a ZEV, the electricity generated by the PV system is distributed directly within the building to the connected users. Self-consumption is prioritized, while surplus is fed into the grid, and external electricity is only sourced when needed. This reduces energy costs, relieves the grid, and increases independence.
As the operator of this physical ZEV, enshift takes full responsibility for maintenance including support for tenants and property management. This gives the project not only a technological but also an organizationally scalable energy solution for the future.
